Hi, I’m Ayuko. I’m not a PhD in linguistics or a MEXT-trained instructor — and I won’t pretend to be. But I have worked with language learners of all levels for over 30 years, in the United States, Canada, and Japan.I was born and raised in Japan and received a typical Japanese education before moving to the United States for university. After returning to Japan, I’ve lived here ever since.As you might guess, there aren’t many opportunities to speak English here — and yet, here I am, talking to you in English and feeling quite comfortable.You don’t have to live in Japan to start speaking Japanese.
